Atty. Andres obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree at the University of the Philippines-Diliman in 1990. He graduated from the same university with a BA Economics degree (Dean's List) in 1984. He is a member of the Upsilon Sigma Phi Fraternity and was President of the Upsilon Sigma Phi Alumni Association from 2015 to 2017. He was admitted to the Bar in 1991. In November 1990, he joined the Ponce Enrile Cayetano Bautista Reyes & Manalastas Law Offices (PECABAR) as an associate, and became a partner in July 1996. Thereafter, he Co-Headed PECABAR's litigation department from 1998 to 2001.
During his stay in PECABAR, he also handled Labor cases including Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) negotiations, civil and administrative cases including Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) methods such as mediation and arbitration in construction industry disputes. He has successfully prosecuted several high profile criminal cases including the Vizconde Massacre case and the Leo Ongpin Kidnap for ransom case. He is likewise well-versed in civil litigation and property transations. He has attended international seminars on Alternative Dispute Resolution Methods, Corporate Governance and Risk Management. He has completed the course for corporate directors (ICD). He presently serves as Independent Director of BDO Network Bank and other leading financial institutions. He is likewise qualified as a career executive service officer (CESO) and served as Trustee and Chairman of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) Corporate Governance Committee from 2004-2010; and Chairman of GSIS Family Bank from 2007 to 2010.
Aside from his law firm practice, he also appeared on TV as Host of several Legal and Public Affairs Talk Shows such as "Companero y Companera", "Barangay Dos", and the Daily Morning program "Magandang Umaga Bayan" of ABS-CBN.
He is a former President of the Rotary Club of Midtown Quezon City District 3780. He finished his secondary education from San Beda High School in 1980. While he was a law student, he served as Board Secretary of the Department of Trade and Industry's Garment and Textile Export Board (GTEB) where he was elected as President of GTEB Employees' Association and spokesman of the Department of Trade and Industry's Confederation of Employees' Association.
Atty. Andres co-founded the Firm in March 2004. Afterwards, he became the Chief of Staff (Undersecretary) of Vice President Noli De Castro who served as Chairman of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council and Presidential Adviser on Overseas Filipino Workers. He served as the Executive Director of the Presidential Task Force Against Illegal Recruitment from 2008 to 2010.
